Matching Wine with Food

Since taste preferences are highly individual, there are no strict rules when it comes to food pairing. Relying on your instincts is what counts. However, there are some general guidelines you may find helpful when selecting a wine to enhance your meal.

Select light-bodied wines to pair with lighter foods such as salads, and fuller-bodied wines to go with heartier, more flavourful dishes such as a roast dinner.

Don’t just pair with the type of food you’re serving, also give consideration to how it is prepared. For example, is it grilled, roasted, or fried, and what type of sauce or spice is used?

We’ve put together some basic food pairing suggestions to get you started.
